Algonquin Provincial Park is a provincial park located in the Unorganized South Part of Nipissing District, Ontario, Canada. It is the oldest provincial park in Canada, established in 1893. The park covers an area of 7,723 square kilometers and is home to over 2,400 lakes and 1,200 kilometers of streams and rivers. The park is known for its vast interior of maple hills, rocky ridges, and thousands of lakes. The park offers a wide range of activities such as camping, hiking, biking, fishing, wildlife viewing, and birding. The park is open from May to October.

The Bancroft Village Playhouse is situated on unceded Algonquin Territory. Tweed & Company Theatre, who operate this building, want to recognize that the Anishinaabeg have been stewards of this land since time immemorial.

Through this territorial acknowledgement, we not only respect those who have cared for this land past and present but also strive to centre Indigenous voices in our work, and our practices, moving forward. We recognize the cultural genocide, erasure and anti-Indigenous racism carried out by colonial forces still present today. We will continue to educate ourselves and in our own growth as a company are committed to fostering a deeper understanding of these oppressive forces and will continue to hold space for First Nations, Metis and Inuit Peoples.

Egan Creek Trails. Experience this 8.0-km out-and-back trail near Bancroft, Ontario. Generally considered a moderately challenging route, it takes an average of 2 h 10 min to complete. This is a popular trail for birding, hiking, and walking, but you can still enjoy some solitude during quieter times of day. The best times to visit this trail are July through October.
